This Is the Best Buffet in Mississippi, Known for Its Seafood

Searching for the best seafood buffet in Mississippi? Come feast on all-you-can-eat crab legs and more at this small-town restaurant.

Is Butler’s Fish & Steak in New Albany the best buffet for seafood in Mississippi? With reviews like “Seafood buffet was spectacular!! Fresh and tasty!” I’d say this local joint is on the list. Since patrons travel for hours, including across state lines to eat here, it’s obvious that the food at Butler’s hits the mark for foodies. Each day, the folks at the buffet strive to display “hospitality and warmth with every meal.” Not only will you be nice and full, but you’ll also leave feeling like family. If you love seafood, this all-you-can-eat (AYCE) buffet in Mississippi is the place for you.

Welcome to Butler’s Fish and Steak, the largest seafood buffet in North Mississippi. As you may know, seafood is a way of life in the state, even beyond the shores of the Gulf. And while there are several restaurants in Mississippi worth visiting, good seafood buffets are hard to come by. I've been to places where I paid a lot of money and the selection...well, didn’t quite live up to the hype.

But have no worries, Butler’s is changing the game. This AYCE buffet is stocked with fresh items, and the wide selection will speak to your foodie heart. Patrons can fill their plates with shrimp, crab cakes, oysters, and more. And I can't forget the crawfish and catfish, which are part of the culture here. One unique item on the buffet is the frog legs, a Southern delicacy that might not appeal to everyone, but curious eaters love them.

The real star of the show is the massive AYCE snow crab legs. On select days (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday), regulars come to enjoy plates of these juicy seafood delights. If you only want to add a few clusters to your plate, you can do that, too. Seafood lovers are always impressed and can't stop raving about the food. One recent patron even said, “This was worth the 100-mile drive..I mainly went for the shrimp and other seafood, and I was not disappointed.”

Beyond the seafood, expect other delicious items including steaks, chicken spaghetti, meatloaf, baby back ribs, and so much more. Plan a trip on Sunday for brunch to enjoy the down-home country food that will stick to your ribs. Plus, you can’t go wrong with homestyle sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, yams, mac and cheese, cornbread, hushpuppies, and everything in between. Be sure to save room for the peach and chocolate cobbler and the banana pudding.

Since the buffet items change every day, you’re in for a treat with every visit. Of course, the prices will vary depending on whether you’re having lunch, Sunday brunch, the seafood feast, or you splurge on the crab legs. If you ask me, you deserve to splurge a little. Am I right? Check out the Butler’s Fish and Steak Facebook page for the buffet prices.

Not a fan of seafood or buffets? Butlers has something for you, too. The small-town restaurant also has a full menu featuring steak dinners, seafood platters, chicken, and sandwiches. You’ll even find down-home comfort food like country-fried steak, smothered pork chops, and overstuffed Po’Boys. The restaurant also caters and provides a comfy atmosphere for special events.

It’s not every day you come across a seafood and country buffet that delivers on a large menu selection for a reasonable price. Luckily, for the folks in Mississippi, Butler’s has managed to deliver on both. It's easy to see why people keep coming back for more, and guess what…you will too. It's the kind of destination where you and your family will feel both welcomed and satisfied.
