The World’s Best Burgers Can Be Found Right Here In Minneapolis
Matt's Bar in Minneapolis is famous for its Jucy Lucy, a cheese-stuffed burger that many consider the best in the world.
Minneapolis isn't exactly known worldwide for its food scene. Sure, we have amazing restaurants that can keep up with the best of 'em, but they rarely make headlines in other parts of the country or world. However, small our food footprint is, we at least have one claim to fame that no one else can declare. Whether you call them Juicy or Jucy, there's no denying that the cheese-stuffed burger is a Minneapolis invention. And because of that, our city is home to the world's best burgers. Take a look:
Matt's Bar is a Minneapolis institution that has been around since 1954. Its claim to fame is the Jucy Lucy.
While 5-8 Club also claims to have invented the iconic cheese-filled burger, many swear by Matt's.
So many, in fact, that there's a line out the door more often than not.
When you do get inside, you'll discover Matt's is exactly what you might expect given the exterior.
But no one goes to Matt's Bar to be dazzled by the fancy decor.
They're in it for the menu of simple, yet delicious - and affordable - items.
So sit back and watch the action unfold. From the crowds to the nearby grill firing up Jucys by the dozen, you'll be well entertained.
There are some menu items that aren't burgers. For example, you can order a grilled cheese or a chicken sandwich.
But most people go to Matt's for the Jucy Lucy.
As the story goes, the Lucy was invented when a customer ordered two patties with a slice of cheese in the middle. Customers started ordering them like crazy.
And can you really blame them? There's something about a burger filled with molten cheese that is beyond delicious.
Pair your meal with fries and a cold beer, and it'll be the most satisfying thing you eat all week.
Matt's Bar is located at 3500 Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis. Next time you're in the area, stop in for the world's best burger.
