Shook Smoothies in Minnesota is a Grand Marais smoothie stand has folks lining up for its smoothies, smoothie bowls, and even burritos. Since it opened, it's become one of my favorite stops in the charming town of Grand Marais, and frankly, I think Shook serves up some of the best smoothies in Minnesota. It's worth a trip up the shore to discover for yourself just how good these smoothies and smoothie bowls are!
Shook is a smoothie stand in Grand Marais that opened in 2022.
Although it's a food trailer, Shook has a regular spot. You’ll find it in downtown Grand Marais, on a lot next to the Harbor Inn. Occasionally, the stand may relocate to the Cook County Community Center or elsewhere for an event.
Since it opened, folks from Grand Marais and the surrounding area have embraced Shook.
And visitors to the town - like me - have quickly learned why!
Shook’s offerings vary with the seasons and the availability of ingredients, but you will reliably find smoothies and burritos.
Burritos are typically offered in carnivore and vegan-friendly varieties.
Shook’s smoothies lean hard into berries - with all their nutrients and antioxidants - so look for flavors like “a berry dark sky,” “açaí berry blend,” and “Minnesota nice” (featuring strawberries).
Of course, Shook offers plenty of toppings, so you can doctor up your smoothie in just about any way you might want.
In Shook’s smoothie bowls, you’ll find flavors like mango, passion fruit and banana, or açaí, mixed berries and banana. They come topped with gluten-free granola, coconut flakes, and fresh fruit.
But you’re welcome to add other toppings, or even have pitaya fruit mixed in to make it "dragon" style.
Wild Ice was a bowl that had just been introduced the last time I visited, and I'm a big fan - strong recommend if it's on the menu when you stop by Shook!
Nor will you go wrong with the Sunsicle - Shook's Dreamsicle inspired bowl - which I thought was like eating a spoonful of sunshine with every bite.
If you’re looking for all the energy without all the fruit, grab one of the energy shakes, like the Birch Babe, made with peanut butter and chocolate protein powder, as well as banana, and almond milk.
Next time you're in Grand Marais, look for the black trailer with the pink banner - and pull over!
With a smoothie or bowl from Shook, you’ll be ready to tackle whatever you’re doing with your day, whether it’s hiking the Kadunce River, heading up the Gunflint Trail, or exploring the Boundary Waters. For its hours and menu, or to order ahead, check out Shook’s website or visit Shook on Facebook for information on specials and events.
