Let’s check it out.
Nestled along Historic River Road, The Rivershack Tavern is one of those hidden gems that only locals know about.
Until now, that is.
The restaurant may have only opened in 1990, but the building is much older.
The building dates all the way back to the early 1900s when it was Towes Bar & Grocery, which operated in that space until 1952. Since then, several different bars have come and gone, but the Rivershack Tavern is here to stay.
If the nostalgic exterior doesn’t pull you in, the interior will.
Rustic and charming, you can definitely feel the history of the place when you walk in.
Known for its quirky barstools, this is one of the most unique restaurants in the Pelican State.
These funky seats were introduced in 1992 and were an instant hit.
Made on site, these barstools were crafted to reflect people from all different walks of life.
Shrimpers, golfers, cowboys and more.
Whether you take a seat at the bar or snag a table in the dining room, be sure to bring your appetite.
The portions here are hearty, to say the least.
The menu is full of all your favorite Cajun and comfort foods.
Pastas, sandwiches, seafood and more.
No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it here.
Their burgers are a fan favorite. Pile yours up with chili and cheese for the ultimate burger.
Their po'boys are some of the best in the area.
Piled sky-high and dressed to your liking, you'll need a stack of napkins to finish off one of these bad boys.
Rivershack Tavern even has crawfish when they're in season.
Perfectly seasoned with all the extras. Yum!
No matter what you decide to get, you're in for a memorable meal at The Rivershack Tavern.
