Brunch is the perfect way to start out your Saturday or Sunday. Getting together with family and friends and friends and sharing a delicious meal (and maybe a mimosa or two) is a wonderful treat. While there are tons of places that offer traditional breakfast and brunch menu items, we've found a few that are putting their own unique twist on the traditional brunch menu. In no particular order, here are some of our favorites.

1. 1910

This place puts their own spin on the classic eggs Benedict: pulled pork, poached eggs, hollandaise on top of jalapeno corn cakes. Located at 949 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.

2. Atchafalaya Restaurant

Try their Eggs Atchafalaya: poached eggs, fried green tomatoes topped with jumbo lump crab meat and Hollandaise sauce. Located at 901 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115.

3. Brick and Spoon

Try their killer creole omelet: Gulf shrimp, tasso, onions, bell peppers, cheddar jack cheese topped with Hollandaise. They also have a bananas in pajamas appetizer that's a unique twist on the classic banana's foster dessert. Located at 1895 W. Pinhook Road, Lfayette, LA 70508.

4. Canefield Tavern

Editor's Note: Unfortunately this restaurant is permanently closed.

Oyster lovers, this ones for you. Their eggs Louis Benedict has poached eggs, baby spinach topped with hollandaise sauce all stacked on fresh french bread and surrounded with cornmeal-crusted fried oysters. Located at 5251 Nicholson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70820.

5. Cotton

You've heard of chicken and waffles, sure... But what about quail and waffles? Cotton's is certainly putting their own spin on the popular southern classic. Located at 101 N. Grand Street, Monroe, LA 71201.

6. Cristiano

Cristiano's serves a very unique brunch menu, each item better than the next. You can't go wrong with their shrimp and polenta! Located at 724 High Street, Houma, LA 70360.

7. The French Press

If you're more of a sweet than savory breakfast eater, then you have to try this french toast. Cream cheese and banana stuffed french toast topped with a berry-champagne compote. Delicious! Located at 214 E. Vermilion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501.

8. Le Bistreaux

They serve just about every type of waffle you can imagine here at Le Bistreaux, from red velvet waffles to s'mores waffles. They even have a pulled pork waffle! Located at 5803 Coliseum Blvd, Alexandria, LA 71303.

9. Luna Bar & Grill

All of their brunch items have a Cajun/Creole twist. Our favorite was the Omelet Mamou: three-egg omelet topped with crawfish, cheddar/monterey jack cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms with a cajun Hollandaise. Located at 719 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.

10. Mande's

They have a lot of signature breakfast and brunch items, and a few with a twist. Try their Cajun Benedict with homemade crawfish sausage, tomatoes, poached eggs all on an English muffin and topped with Hollandaise. Located at 340 N. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70448.

11. Marilynn's Place

Their spin on chicken and biscuits keeps customers coming back for more. Delicious boudin served with freshly bakes biscuits. Boudin and biscuits! A wonderful Cajun spin on a southern classic. Located at 4041 Fern Ave, Shreveport, LA 71105.

12. Mattina Bella

If you love eggs Benedict you'll love their version, topped with mushrooms and jumbo lump crab meat! Located at 421 E. Gibson Street, Covington, LA 70433.

13. Southside Cafe

Breakfast sandwich meets po'boy with their Peacemaker sandwich: fried oysters, two fried eggs, smoked applewood bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo all on toasted French Bread. Located at 3154 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell, LA 70458.
