It's worthy of a road trip, and cracklins are great road trip food, so everybody wins, right? Right.
Welcome to The Black Kettle, a family-owned and operated eatery located in Patterson, just outside of Morgan City.
The Black Kettle opened its doors in 2017 and quickly became a local favorite for Cajun specialties.
The menu features all your favorite Cajun snacks like boudin balls, Cajun egg rolls, boudin, and more.
Their pepper jack stuffed boudin balls, in particular, are a must-try.
Of course, you’ve got to try the cracklins. Just look at those little golden nuggets of perfection!
These little cubes of deep-fried pork belly are sinfully delicious. They just melt in your mouth!
And as we mentioned, they make a great road trip snack, so be sure to save some for the drive home.
In addition to their daily menu, you can also order an assortment of party trays, perfect for those nights when you don’t want to cook.
And just in case you do want to cook, take a peep at the selection of frozen items before you go, where you can stock up on boudin and other specialty meats!
The Black Kettle is open five days a week:
Tuesday-Friday: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturday: 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.
