Switchboard at the Myriad Hotel in Kentucky Offers Drinks Perfect for Any Time of Day

Switchboard on Bardstown Road is a cozy spot in the lobby of The Myriad Hotel on Bardstown Road to enjoy coffee, tea, and cocktails. It's welcoming vibe makes it perfect for getting some work done or meeting friends.

I have a penchant for local coffee shops. Their cheery baristas, relaxed vibe, and smooth, inviting music make any day brighter. Of course, there's also the phenomenal coffee. Local shops are the best places to find fresh, high-quality java. When I recently drove past Switchboard on Bardstown Road and saw that it serves not only coffee but also cocktails, I knew I had to check it out.

I walked into Switchboard and immediately loved its decor. The dark-painted brick and plush velvet furniture created a moody and comfortable environment. Its primary light fixture is a work of art, with interconnected tubes of light spanning at least ten feet along the ceiling; I had never seen anything like it. Windows let in abundant natural light, and I recognized that this place is equally perfect for working or studying alone or meeting friends.

I stepped up to Switchboard's extensive bar and studied its menu. It serves various coffee and tea drinks, including espressos, cold brews, cappuccinos, Americanos, lattes, and hot teas. There were also breakfast food items, like a sausage breakfast sandwich, and snacks, like lavash and dip. The bar is also fully stocked to serve cocktails to patrons interested in alcoholic beverages. It was early in the day, so I opted for a latte and settled in at one of the tables for two. I loved the comfortable seating and the luxe marble table.

Switchboard is in the lobby of The Myriad Hotel, a boutique hotel with 65 rooms housed in a former disco ball factory. Did you know that Louisville remains the world's largest producer of disco balls? The hotel has an excellent location right on Bardstown Road, with convenient access to downtown Louisville, Cherokee Park, and the vibrant Highlands neighborhood. The hotel has a restaurant, Paseo, serving starters, homemade pasta, paellas, and entrees like Wood-Fired Steak and Smoked Hokkaido Scallops.

It wasn't long before my coffee arrived, piping hot and in a beautiful grey cup and saucer. I loved the hefty mug and even checked for a brand marking underneath it to see if I could buy some for my home. The latte was rich, hot, and delicious, not too sweet or bitter. I loved sipping it while watching guests stream in and out of The Myriad Hotel's doors. All of the employees were welcoming and friendly, creating a fantastic atmosphere. I look forward to returning to enjoy a cocktail and snacks.
