This Latin American Restaurant In Kentucky Has Been Serving Delicious Eats Since 2005

The Bluegrass State is home to countless outstanding restaurants. Every once in a while, however, I find one that shines especially bright. In the heart of the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, Seviche serves dazzling dishes that are as beautiful as they are tasty. Head chef Anthony Lamas opened Seviche restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2005, merging Southern ingredients with traditional Latin flavors. Today, the award-winning chef and his restaurant continue to wow locals and tourists alike.

Seviche’s menu changes seasonally and highlights fresh, artisanal ingredients.

Of course, the restaurant serves its titular seviche (also spelled ceviche or cebiche), which features fresh, raw seafood like shrimp, crab, and tuna, marinated in citrus juices. An array of salads and appetizers, such as mouthwatering empanadas and guacamole, are also a fantastic start to any meal.

Seviche has a friendly, upscale vibe, perfect for many occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and date nights.

The setting also welcomes formal business dinners. White lights hanging from the windows that face Bardstown Road create a warm and inviting environment.

The restaurant’s array of beverage choices is superb.

Seviche starts by serving cucumber slices in their glasses of ice water -- a small but unique and delicious detail. It also offers beer, red and white wine, bourbon, and delicious cocktails. The mojito is one of the best I’ve ever tasted!

While the menu rotates with the seasons, guests can often choose from a variety of seafood, chicken, and beef dishes.

I have tried the restaurant’s mahi mahi tacos and grouper, and both had bold, fresh flavors. Seviche accommodates dietary restrictions and requests and serves several gluten-free dishes.

The restaurant hosts special events throughout the year.

The Dinner & A Movie Series offers guests a set menu and drinks while enjoying a movie for a per-person fee. Patrons can attend a cocktail reception before the movie showing.

Seviche sits on the corner of Bardstown Road and Stephens Avenue in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky.

Its location is perfect for watching the world go by. There is a striking “Spirit of the Highlands” mural just across Bardstown Road from Seviche that provides a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity.

Depending on the weather, patrons can dine outside on Seviche’s patio.

Doesn’t this look like the perfect place to enjoy a meal on a beautiful day? If guests prefer a more casual meal, the restaurant has an indoor bar where they can eat and drink.

Seviche is near Louisville’s historic Cherokee Park, which has a scenic paved trail perfect for a peaceful afternoon in the city. The Grotto and the Garden of Our Lady of Lourdes is also a short drive away and worth a visit.
