There are plenty of great restaurants all over the Sunflower State, and, as you probably expect, many of them are located in our largest cities. Wichita, Topeka, and KCK certainly have their share of amazing eateries, but don't make the mistake of overlooking our small towns when hunting for good food! Just because a town has a small population doesn't mean there aren't amazing places to dine there. Have you ever heard of the little town of Bird City? This little speck on the map has around 450 residents and it's tucked away in quiet Cheyenne County, towards the northwest corner of the state. It may be lacking in population, but it's packed with flavor, especially if you visit Big Ed's in Bird City, Kansas.

Kansas has tons of small towns, and Bird City is among them. This little town is smack in the middle of agricultural land. It spans just a few blocks and feels like a step back in time.

You know it's a remote location if the GPS coordinates are listed on the sign outside!

You won't find a fancy upscale atmosphere here like you would in a big-city steakhouse.

What you will find, though, is amazing food. The steaks are big and cooked to perfection.

Of course, there are a variety of great sides available.

It's one of the best restaurants in Bird City, KS, so expect a crowd, but the service is quick and friendly.
