This Speakeasy Hidden In The Basement Of An Old Theater In Kansas Is Perfect For A Date Night
Speakeasies might sound like something from the past, and, in truth, they did get their start in Prohibition. These bars were places where people could secretly (and illegally) obtain alcohol, and those who frequented the spots had to "speak easy" (i.e.: speak quietly so that they didn't draw attention to the business). Of course, Prohibition has not been the law of the land in some time, and there are plenty of great bars in Kansas where you can imbibe on a fun night out with no worries of legal trouble. But did you know you can still enjoy a speakeasy in Manhattan, KS? 324 Speakeasy is a delightfully fun place we recently discovered that's absolutely perfect for a fun date night. Check it out:
You'll find 324 Speakeasy in the building that once housed the Marshall Theatre, one of the oldest cinemas in the state. It's downstairs, which only adds to the secretive ambiance.
This is an exclusive members-only lounge, but on select nights, the bar is open to any who want to visit, so long as you have the password.
Don't worry: it's not too secret. You can typically find the password posted on 324 Speakeasy's social media.
There are multiple levels of membership available for guests, including a day pass for those just interested in trying the place out.
There's an array of creative cocktails available, plus a light menu of snacks and basic eats.
The vibe and ambiance here is so much fun, and it's definitely not your typical lowbrow bar. It's the perfect spot for a date night in the Little Apple.
For more information about 324 Speakeasy, including the current password, check out the 324 Speakeasy Facebook page. Note that Wednesday and Thursday are typically open nights when anyone can visit, but on Fridays and Saturdays, you'll have to buy a day membership at $25 in order to enter the bar.
