Take A Drive To The Country To Dine At This Exceptional Rural Restaurant In Indiana
Indiana is a greatly underrated state, if you ask me. Truly, what most folks dismiss as "flyover country" (ugh) is an amazingly interesting place filled top-to-bottom, north-to-south with hidden gems of all kinds, from incredible state parks to awe-inspiring campgrounds, small towns, and, of course, restaurants. Take, for example, the small town of Loogootee; it's one of those small mom-and-pop places that just so happens to be one of the best hidden gem restaurants in Indiana. If you ever find yourself craving a great Mexican food joint, get in the car and go to Loogootee - I promise you won't be disappointed.
Loogootee is a low-key place where it's fairly quiet - except for the historic downtown area.
Here, you'll find an assortment of shops and restaurants, all of which are worth checking out - but there's one in particular that attracts folks from all over the Hoosier State.
Los Amigos is a small, mom-and-pop kind of place that's easy to blink and miss as you pass by.
But it's important that you don't: after all, you'll be missing out on one of Indiana's most delectable hidden gems.
Lots of places claim to be "authentic", but this one truly is akin to a place you'd find in border states like Arizona and Texas.
Nothing on the menu is bad - not one thing. But my personal favorite item might just be everyone's favorite: tacos. The tacos at Los Amigos are to die for.
Truly, you'll want to come out here every Tuesday no matter how far the drive is; taco Tuesday is defined by the amazingness that is these tacos.
Look at 'em. Just look at 'em. They're so good you'll find yourself uncomfortably stuffed by the end of your visit - but, you know, in a great way.
If you're a margarita fan, you'll find it difficult not to try each one on your first visit.
Nah, stretch them out - let's drink responsibly - no matter how amazingly colorful and flavorful they all are. Rumor has it that some people come all the way out here JUST for the margs. I wouldn't blame them.
Even the decor is perfect, setting up an ambiance that'll make you forget you're in the Midwest.
The service is incredibly friendly, and I mean it when I say you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Who needs a Mexican vacation when they can just eat at Los Amigos?
Okay, okay - Los Amigos doesn't have a beach - but the food is perfection.

It's so mom-and-pop that it doesn't even have an official website - but the Facebook page is updated regularly. Do you have an all-time favorite small-town restaurant in Indiana worth traveling to?
