The Unassuming Hawaii Restaurant That Serves The Best Seafood You’ve Ever Tried
Ono Seafood in Honolulu serves some of the best fresh poke in Hawaii, with a variety of flavors and rave reviews.
When you call an archipelago surrounded by the Pacific Ocean home, you inevitably become spoiled by the incredible, fresh seafood options available to you. While we love splurging on fancy seafood dinners every once in a while, it is the local, little-known restaurants that serve the most mouthwatering seafood the Hawaiian Islands have to offer. And nowhere will you find more mouthwatering poke than at Honolulu’s Ono Seafood.
From the outside, this tiny seafood joint doesn’t look like much. The storefront is small, slightly rundown, and offers minimal parking.
The interior is just as unassuming, with brightly colored walls, a simple menu, and poke in a glass-enclosed counter.
But the seafood will blow your mind and have you coming back for more at any opportunity you get. The seafood is fresh, and the poke is made-to-order instead of sitting all afternoon in a big container.
This unassuming Hawaii eatery is rumored to have the best poke in Honolulu — and has the reviews on Yelp, TripAdvisor, FourSquare, Zomato, and Facebook to prove it.
Serving up ahi and tako in a variety of flavors like shoyu, wasabi, and miso, the poke served at Ono Seafood is just that — ono (that means delicious in Hawaiian, in case you were out of the loop).
You can order poke on its own in quarter, half, one, and two pound containers, or on top of rice as a poke bowl.
No matter what you order — or how much — you'll never be disappointed at Ono Seafood.
Ono Seafood is located at 747 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This local favorite is closed Sunday and Monday.
