The Massive Prime Rib At Haleiwa Joe’s In Hawaii Belongs On Your Dining Bucket List
Haleiwa Joe’s in Haiku Gardens, Oahu, is renowned for its prime rib and picturesque setting.
Though the Hawaiian Islands are small in terms of landmass, the islands feel huge as soon as you consider the countless restaurant options found across the state. Here at Only In Hawaii, we’re always looking for restaurants to add to our dining bucket list, but there’s one restaurant that has been on that list since day one: Haleiwa Joe’s. This classic eatery is famous for a reason; not only do they serve up some mighty mouthwatering seafood, but the restaurant itself is located in a seriously dreamy secret garden. While you’ve certainly heard of this famous establishment, did you know that Haleiwa Joe’s also serves up one of the best prime rib dinners in the Aloha State? Carnivores, this one is for you.
An iconic Hawaiian seafood restaurant, Haleiwa Joe’s second (and we’d argue, prettier) location can be found in windward Oahu at the Haiku Gardens, a slice of absolute paradise.
The restaurant is surrounded by the towering Ko’olau Mountains, lush greenery, and a pond so picturesque you’d be remiss if you didn’t stop to take a photograph — or twenty!
Full of Hawaiian-inspired decor, earthy tones, and one-of-a-kind artwork, stepping inside Haleiwa Joe’s will make you feel as though you’ve just entered your favorite auntie’s house.
You won't find a bad seat in the house, but of course, what keeps customers coming back again and again is the scrumptious food served here.
Locally inspired flavors are found in everything from appetizers to desserts at Haleiwa Joe’s, and the fresh seafood, locally-grown produce, and quality steaks are crowd favorites.
While we love the entire menu, everyone knows that the prime rib reigns supreme. Slow roasted all day long, the two-pound prime rib is thick, juicy, and delicious.
Supply is limited, though, so we suggest arriving as soon as they open for dinner so you can get a table as quickly as possible and order a two-inch-thick slab of prime rib.
You heard that right! The size of Haleiwa Joe’s prime rib is two pounds AND two inches thick, so bring an appetite! Is it the biggest prime rib in Hawaii? It just might be. We'll keep "testing" them out to make sure!
If you prefer seafood to steak, you can indulge in everything from coconut shrimp, fried calamari, and crab dip to fresh selections of ahi, salmon, crab, and more.
No matter what you order, it's hard to deny the appeal of Haleiwa Joe's. With mouthwatering food and a picturesque location, this is a popular spot for tourists as well as locals who want to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
Haleiwa Joe’s at Haiku Gardens is typically open seven days a week, but hours vary from day to day. For more information, visit the Haleiwa Joe’s website or give them a follow.
