I don't know about you, but I love coming across new restaurants in Florida, especially when those restaurants are fairly new on the scene and already receiving accolades. Smoke and Dough is a barbecue restaurant in Miami that is one of 50 restaurants, and only three in Florida, to be featured in The NY Times' annual restaurant list. Talk about an accomplishment! So what makes this some of the best barbecue in Miami, Florida? Let's dive right in...
Smoke and Dough barbecue in the Kendall area of Miami is a popular barbecue restaurant known for its authentic smoked meats and homemade sides.
After the success of Empanada Harry’s (right next door!), owners Michelle and Harry expanded their culinary ventures by bringing authentic smoked barbecue to Miami.
The talented duo, both graduates of FIU, have earned recognition from numerous esteemed publications and media outlets, including the Miami Herald, Food Network Magazine, NY Times, Miami New Times, NBC, Univision, PBS, Cooking Channel, and Telemundo.
The menu features a variety of classic barbecue dishes, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and sausage, all slow-cooked to perfection.
This isn’t your average barbecue, however. The brisket is a 15-hour smoked prime cafecito rub brisket. While the smoked pulled pork is earning its flavor for over 12 hours. Plus, you can’t beat homemade sausage smoked on-site.
If you want to try a little bit of everything, I recommend the Smokehouse Platter. Feeding up to four guests, this platter includes one pound of prime brisket, one pound of pulled pork, two cheddar sausages, creamy slaw, baked beans, cornbread, BBQ sauce, dill pickles, and pickled red onions.
The selection of mouthwatering sides should also not go unnoticed. Try the truffle mac and cheese, honey cornbread, and delicious potato breads to round out the meal.
Plus, with many of the meats made and smoked in-house, there are quite a few delicious sandwiches offered on the menu as well. Try the Pastrami on Rye. You won’t regret it.
Smoke and Dough provides a hearty and satisfying dining experience. The casual, welcoming atmosphere makes it a great spot for families and friends to enjoy delicious, Southern-style barbecue.
