Back again after being shuttered for two years is the iconic News Cafe in South Beach, Florida.

Founded in 1988, The News Cafe was one-part restaurant, one-part newsstand, with famous guests like Gianni Versace who walked almost daily to pick up a paper and grab breakfast.

The thing about News Cafe that most residents and even tourists know is that this place is synonymous with breakfast. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, The News Cafe was the place to go in the wee hours of the morning or on a slow, lazy Sunday.

You could score a platter of pancakes or waffles wedged between chicken and a fresh mimosa at any time. The all-day breakfast was a huge draw.

But the menu didn’t just stop there. The News Cafe was also the place to go after a day spent in the sun at the beach, grabbing an ice-cold beer and platter of nachos before heading home.

For the past 30 years, until its closure, the News Cafe was open for 24 hours, serving nearly 5,000 guests every day.

Today, this South Beach staple has reopened under new ownership, but in the same iconic location, it once held - on Ocean Drive underneath a boutique hotel.

Come enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner inspired by Mediterranean and American cuisine as you people-watch the day away on Ocean Drive.
