Sweet Pete's occupies a huge historic building in downtown Jacksonville that was originally built for the city's oldest men's organization, the Seminole Club.

The beautiful building was constructed in 1903 with two stories, and a third floor was added in 1907 (possibly as a discrete bordello for some of the city's wealthy men).

The building sat abandoned for decades until Sweet Pete's moved in and gave it a major makeover.

The Seminole Club's beautiful bones were taken to the next level with bright colors, chandeliers, and black and white checkerboard floors.

Every corner of the gigantic three-story candy shop is covered in whimsical but stylish details. The trippy colors and Victorian touches make you feel like Alice in Wonderland.

Sweet Pete's has just about every kind of confection you could want, and this is some of the best, highest quality candy you will ever try. Most of their inventory is made in-house, but there are lots of other unique and rare candies to discover. On the first floor, you'll find Sweet Pete's restaurant and cocktail bar, The Candy Apple Cafe.

Since opening a couple of years ago, it's become known as one of Jacksonville's best new restaurants, offering delicious upscale cuisine and creative hand-crafted cocktails.

Visitors can tour the candy factory and even choose from a variety of candy-making classes.
