Don’t Pass By This Unassuming Turkish Restaurant Housed Behind A Connecticut Gas Station Without Stopping

We've all heard the expression "don't judge a book by its cover," but it's a hard lesson to take to heart. It's human nature to be drawn to the new and the flashy, whether you're talking about books on a shelf or restaurants on a city street. It's easy to be dismissive of humble spots that aren't as eye-catching as newer or more luxurious restaurants, but if you skip out on hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Connecticut, you're really missing out! One of our favorite unassuming restaurants is Bereket Turkish Restaurant in Bridgeport, CT. This place doesn't look like much from the outside - it's housed right beside a gas station - but inside, you'll find an array of international delights. Check it out:

This humble spot is tucked right behind a Valero, and it's quite small, making it very easy to miss.

It may be tiny, but it serves up some seriously delicious food. This is one spot you don't want to miss out on!

The interior is bright and airy. Visit on a sunny day and you'll be met with so much warmth!

Another thing providing warmth here is the delicious Turkish coffee.

This is a strong coffee with a unique thickness that makes it amazing for a quick afternoon pick-me-up.

You'll find plenty of tasty eats to enjoy here, too.

With kebabs, pitas, salads, and more, there's so much to enjoy here.

Just make sure you save room for some baklava for dessert!
