You can find plenty of great Mexican restaurants and lots of great BBQ in Connecticut, but it's rare that you can find both in one spot. Lucky for fans of both types of food, we've got a brand new restaurant called, fittingly enough, Mexicue, that just opened up in Westport. This is actually the second Mexicue in Connecticut: the first location opened up in Stamford. You can also find branches in New York City and Washington DC. The spot started up as a simple food truck and has now grown into a popular multi-location eatery serving up remixed classics that are like nothing you've ever tried before.
The Stamford location is right on the water and it's one of the best restaurant views in Connecticut. The new Westport location has a similarly great view - if you're on the second floor, you get an excellent vantage point of the city's vibrant downtown area.
The vibe here is great and you'll feel right at home as soon as you enter.
Mexican and BBQ may seem like an odd fusion, but the flavors blend together perfectly.
The menu is incredibly varied and contains plenty of options for meat-eaters and vegetarian or vegan diners.
You can enjoy Mexican classics like birria tacos, guacamole, and street corn.
However, there's also more creative offerings, like burnt end brisket tacos and "jamburritos" (a burrito filled with a tasty Jambalaya made from chicken, chorizo, and black beans).
The portions are pretty large, so make sure to come hungry!
This unique Mexican BBQ restaurant in Connecticut is one of the tastiest new spots around.
