When it comes to pizza, Coloradans know that our hometown Beau Jo's cannot be surpassed, thanks to its thick and pillowy crust, fresh and delicious toppings, and complimentary honey to dip. Agree? While Beau Jo's is famous for having mountain-style pies that are generous in size, you may be surprised to learn that they also serve an all-too generous 14-pound pizza that is sure to fill every void you have ever had:
Featuring 6 locations around the Centennial State (including their iconic Idaho Springs restaurant, pictured), Beau Jo's is a long-time Colorado institution that is a favorite for both locals and tourists.
Originally opened in 1973, each Beau Jo's boasts a fun and rustic atmosphere that is as welcoming as the food is delicious!
In terms of food, you can never go wrong with any pie from Beau Jo's, but if you come in with a giant appetite, you may want to order the gigantic, 14-pound Grand Sicilian.
Per their menu, the 14-pound Grand Sicilian is part of the restaurant's Legendary 14'er Challenge, where if 2 people can eat every last crumb of the pizza (which comes complete with the thick, mountain-style crust, plus several pounds of pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms) in less than an hour, they will receive their meal for free, plus $100 and 2 t-shirts.
Is your mouth watering?
Does the Beau Jo's Legendary 14'er Challenge seem a bit too - err, legendary - for your appetite? No problem, as Beau Jo's still serves numerous sizes and varieties of all of their pizzas, plus calzones, sandwiches, pasta, and more.
