These 14 Donut Shops In Northern California Will Have Your Mouth Watering

When you think of Northern California, do you think of donuts? You should. We may be one of the most health conscious parts of the world, but even we know when to push aside the granola and kale for something warm and delicious. You may love your Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts, but we LOVE our mom and pop donuts shops!

Donuts shout childhood for me. Saturday mornings meant dad would let mom sleep in and take his three little girls out for donuts. I've tried donuts all over the country and still believe my childhood donut shop beats them all. Lucky for you, I included it in this list!

1. Hilltop Donuts - Marysville

Do you enjoy your donuts warm? Then you MUST get your donuts holes here. It says a lot when these little balls of love are still glowing when you bring them home.

2. Rainbow Orchard, Apple HIll

Ever had an apple cider donut? If not, then you're definitely missing out. Rainbow Orchards is in Camino off of HWY 50 in an area called "Apple Hill." I'll meet you there.

3. Donut House, Redding

Donut House is known for their ahhhmazing creme filled donuts. A fixture in Redding, we know they're anxiously awaiting the new store to open, open, open!

4. Donut Nook, Chico

This shop is famous for their chocolate chip squares, a donut with chocolate chips (duh!), maple frosting and a whole lot of deliciousness.

5. Maple Leaf Donuts, Los Gatos

This donut may appear larger in person than in this image. Apples are stuffed inside the bear sized claw here. Heaven!

6. World's Fare, Hayward

Numero uno, in my book. They're incredibly huge, more dense than your average donut and the glaze is thicker and more amazing than any other donut shop, period. The end.

7. Dynamo Donut & Coffee, San Francisco

Maple Bacon Donut, anyone? Known for their creativity, this donut shop doesn't disappoint. Who would think salt and sweet on a cloud of yum would work? They're gifted here.

8. Star Donuts, Jackson

These may be some of the best cake donuts around. But if you're more of a jelly lover, then you'll want to come by on your way to work, or after.

9 Jasmine Donuts, Rocklin

This photo says it all. Creme-filled donuts may just be the 9th wonder of the world. Have you had one? I want one.

10. Java Time Donuts, Elk Grove

Your favorite cereal on a donut is phenomenal. Who knew? Two scoops plus some glazing are a marriage made in donut-paradise.
