Hoffbrau will reel you in with their flavorful meals and Texas charm. This rustic steakhouse in Austin is a carnivore's dream come true.
Hoffbrau Steakhouse has stood tall since 1934.
Robert and Tom Hamby opened this restaurant during the Great Depression as a way to scrape together a little more income. Luckily, they were met with a stroke of luck.
Shortly after opening, prohibition laws lifted and allowed the brothers to sell beer for a nickel each.
Even during the hard economic times, people flocked to the Hamby's business to taste some delicious, cold beer from the keg.
The brothers started whipping up scrumptious steak dinners to go along with the beer, and the word caught on.
You can still sink your teeth into their delicious meals today.
The menu is short, but it has everything you could ever need. Order a chicken breast, NY strip, top sirloin, ribeye or T-bone smothered in lemon-butter sauce. No matter what you choose, your taste buds will be in heaven.
Each meal comes with a heaping helping of sides.
Hoffbrau will throw in some crispy potato wedges, sliced bread (for soaking up the tasty lemon-butter sauce), and a fresh salad with garlic dressing. And the best part? You can get all of this with a small top sirloin for only $13.95.
