And people will drive for miles just to eat at our delicious steak restaurants. But there’s one tiny but legendary steakhouse in Dumas that is a giant amongst the rest.
Located at 14201 AR-54 in the small farming town of Dumas, Arkansas is Taylor’s Steakhouse.
This unassuming restaurant has been in business since 1954. At first, it was a grocery store that also served BBQ sandwiches to the local farmers. You can tell already that with a legacy that long, this place has to be good. And you're correct. This restaurant has some of the best steak in Arkansas.
Eventually, the restaurant business expanded, and the eatery began serving a variety of food to more patrons. But unfortunately, the diners began to dwindle.
What people really wanted was something that the area lacked: a steakhouse in Arkansas. Something classic and perfectly executed.
So, in the meantime, Chuck, who is part owner of the restaurant, learned how to age beef to perfection. And eventually, along with his wife Pam, took a leap of faith and transformed the store into an Arkansas steakhouse.
Initially, Taylor’s struggled getting local customers due to the high prices of the aged steaks. But Chuck had faith in his product and knew that the customers would come. And he was right. Once customers tried a taste of this incredibly flavorful and tender steak, they couldn't (and still can't!) get enough.
So, what began as a modest grocery store serving the farmers in the community, evolved into a legendary steakhouse.
Nowadays people drive for many miles to eat at this steakhouse. And who can blame them? There's a new level of flavor to experience every time you go.
Today, Taylor’s attracts patrons from all over the state and from all walks of life. All wanting to taste that mouthwatering steak that is the talk of the town.
Besides the fact that the steak is aged to perfection, what sets Taylor’s apart is the secret to the recipe that is kept under lock and key.
And that secret is in the compound butter. It’s the key ingredient to the most delicious steak cooked in Arkansas.
Don’t believe me? The restaurant has been inducted into the steakhouse hall of fame, as well as received many local accolades. But we won't blame you if you want to go and taste for yourself. In fact, we encourage it.
Not only has Taylor’s mastered how to cook steaks, but the legendary eatery has also solidified the aging technique.
This guarantees that you’ll be getting the best steak around. And you’ll agree it’s the most mouthwatering steak you’ve ever had. The restaurant offers all the traditional side dishes of a steakhouse, as well as other dishes, but it's the meat that's really the star of the show.
