This Retro Diner In Arizona Will Take You Back To The Good Old Days

Welcome Diner in Arizona offers a nostalgic dining experience with retro décor and hearty American fare, including vegan options.

Sometimes, a blast from the past is just what you need to feel refreshed amid the fast-paced modern world. Luckily, the Welcome Diner in Arizona, a circa-1965 greasy spoon, offers exactly that. Between the retro décor and homestyle eats, this charming restaurant will take you back to the days of sock hops and soda fountains while filling your heart and stomach with a delicious dose of nostalgia.

With locations in both Phoenix and Tucson, Welcome Diner is a farm-to-table restaurant serving up hearty American fare.

Pictured here is the Phoenix location, however, Tucson is where the diner got its start in 1964.

Both diners feature retro décor such as neon signs, vintage lamps, and brightly colored furniture that keeps the spirit of the good old days alive.

Slide into a booth and take a peek at the menu - it's huge, so you'll need some time to look it over.

If you're stopping by for breakfast, the options range from fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits and egg scrambles to decadent French toast.

Don't feel like you have to wake up early, though - breakfast is served all day long!

When it comes to lunch and dinner, you'll see everything from light salads to smothered fries and juicy burgers.

There's also a different blue plate special every Thursday-Sunday night from 5 p.m. until sellout. Options include twice-fried chicken, jambalaya, beer-battered cod, and even an all-vegan comfort food feast.

Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options are offered, as well as occasional off-menu dishes available for a limited time only.

This is a hearty and comforting bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen from a past special, and you can expect to see equally unique flavor profiles in the other specialty entrees.

One simply can't leave Welcome Diner without trying a slice of their homemade pie.

The flavors rotate, and pecan and cherry seem to be crowd favorites. Vegan cookies are also available!

Please note: The Tucson location is temporarily closed. Visit the Welcome Diner website or Facebook page for more information, including hours and a full menu.
