Passed down over generations, the Reynoso family's signature Gollo Burro has been winning hearts and taking names since 1938. You have to try this local delicacy at one of the oldest Mexican restaurants in Arizona!

Welcome to Casa Reynoso!

This family-owned and operated Tempe restaurant dishes out authentic Globe/Miami-style Mexican food.

Despite opening less than 40 years ago, the restaurant has roots that go back much further.

The Reynosos first began sharing their recipes with Arizona in 1938. After successfully winning over the people of Globe, the family moved to Tempe to expand their reach and share their traditional home cooking with a larger audience.

Their most famous and beloved recipe is the Gollo Burro, voted the best in the area.

It features a fresh flour tortilla filled with green chili, whole pinto beans, onions, and cheese, with melted butter poured over the top.

Here's an inside shot - doesn't it look absolutely scrumptious?

The recipe stands the all-important test of time, remaining unchanged for over 80 years. One bite, and you'll quickly realize why there's no need to fix something that isn't broken.

While the original Gollo Burro will always reign supreme, you can customize it to your liking.

Feel free to add green or red sauce, guacamole, sour cream, or all of the above. You can even make it a chimichanga - AKA a deep-fried burro! There is also a Garden Burro available for vegetarians.

Other menu items include tamales, carne asada, tacos, enchiladas, and combination plates for the indecisive eaters.

Oh, and let's not forget about the chips and salsa! Every good Mexican meal starts with a heaping bucket of homemade tortilla chips - bonus points if they're homemade and perfectly salted. Your first bowl is on the house!

If you aren't too full after the main course, the dessert selections are to die for.

Pictured here is the fried ice cream, topped with honey, cinnamon, sugar, and whipped cream. It's as good as it sounds! Caramel flan and a cinnamon crisp are the other sweet treats on the menu.

Not ready to leave just yet? Belly up to the bar for a post-dinner drink.

From beer - both domestic and imported - to handcrafted cocktails, there's a perfect sip for everyone!
