Family-owned and operated since 1981, Blue Hills Cafe serves everything from breakfast staples to burgers and waffle fries—all perfectly prepared in that made-from-scratch kind of way. Breakfast here comes with a massive amount of bacon cooked just right, and the other items are absolutely delicious.

2. Brownie’s Cafe, Yuma

Around since 1972, it has been cooking its burgers over an open mesquite fire for more than 50 years. In true hole-in-the-wall fashion, this is a cash-only establishment, so leave your plastic at home.

4. The Root Beer Stand, Winslow
Those thirsting for a homemade root beer cannot miss The Root Beer Stand in Winslow, AZ. Once the home of the Darrel's Root Beer Stand, this shop got a stunning makeover in 2021, courtesy of HGTV. Diners declare their chili fries to be utterly delicious, along with their shakes, floats, and burgers.

Another cash-only establishment, this restaurant specializes in serving you delicious, golden brown waffles. I’ve never had a bad meal in the few dozen Vietnamese restaurants I’ve tried, so it’s a little difficult to choose just one, but the meals definitely hit the spot here. Located in Central Phoenix, you can get a hot bowl of pho pretty fast. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the pho dac biet, a beef noodle soup that includes a full assortment of beef cuts.
