The Life-Size Ginger Bread House In Arizona That Will Make All Your Childhood Dreams Come True
The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain resort in Arizona offers a unique dining experience inside a life-size gingerbread house during the winter holidays.
As a kid, I remember building little gingerbread houses once the winter holidays rolled in and wondering what it would be like to live in one of these little places.
A little house like this, complete with decorated trees and candy cane-lined walkways. Cute, huh?
Well, I recently found out that dream can easily become a reality right here in Arizona! Or, at least dining in one can.
The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain resort hosts the Dine-In Gingerbread House, a life-size version on display through December 26.
Baked and assembled on-site, the 20-foot-tall house is almost entirely edible and and a delicious combination of sweet and spicy aromas fill the air.
Hundreds of little gingerbread “bricks” held together with hand-piped icing make the walls and you’ll find loads of gumdrops, peppermints, and other candies added for decoration.
Step inside (avoid the temptation to take a bite out of the walls) and you’ll find that the little gingerbread house is able to seat a small party for lunch or dinner.
The space is especially charming when the fire is roaring, the cups are kept full, and you’re in the presence of good company!
The Gingerbread House is located in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain resort, at 15000 North Secret Springs Drive in Marana. Reservations are required and cost $250 for lunch or $300 for dinner seating. You can find information about gingerbread house dining on their website.
