Before we continue…any guesses to where Florida falls in this ranking?
#15!
In fact, tied for 15th place with Colorado (hello, the Stanley Hotel, anyone?!) Florida ranks as extremely haunted compared to other states.
According to the Travel Channel’s findings, the reason why the ranking is so high is due to cities like St. Augustine.
Considered to be one of the oldest cities in the country, St. Augustine has tons of haunted places throughout the city lines, like the famed Castillo de San Marcos. Castillo de San Marcos is one of the oldest forts in America, surviving countless wars and housing many historical figures.
But outside of St. Augustine, there are other haunted spots worth checking out, too, like Cassadaga Hotel…
…one of the most haunted restaurants in the country, Ashley’s of Rockledge…
…or the Biltmore Hotel in Miami.
Come see for yourself all of the haunted happenings throughout Florida and experience firsthand why it ranks so high in terms of paranormal fun.
