Take The Longest Float Trip In Florida This Summer On The Rainbow River
Once the summer temps start rising and Floridians begin searching for the nearest watering hole, Rainbow Springs State Park will see a huge influx of visitors. People travel from all over to visit this park, not just for the fact it’s the fourth-largest natural spring in the state, but because it offers a one-of-a-kind float opportunity! Nothing says summertime quite like tubing the Rainbow River in Florida. Come tube the aquamarine waters of this incredible river in one epically long trek.
Tubing down the refreshing, lazy Rainbow River is a welcomed pastime for many Floridians.
Just 30 minutes outside of Ocala sits the Rainbow Springs State Park, an almost 1,500-acre state park with direct access to the fourth-largest natural spring in the state.
While some visitors explore this state park for the history dating back close to 10,000 years, others choose to visit to float a few miles surrounded by lush natural beauty.
Guests are also allowed to bring their own flotation device and prepay for the return shuttles, too. In addition, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards are also popular devices to enjoy on this river.
Set aside a nice chunk of time for your float, as the average float trip from KP Hole to the Tuber’s Exit is around four hours, but can vary depending on water levels and weather.
Tubing rentals and shuttle service will be available from May 1st through September 30th. Also make sure you understand the rules and regulations before you launch!
