Since 1933, Haslam’s Book Store has been a beacon for St. Petersburg, Florida, sharing over 300,000 new and used book titles for readers and writers alike.
Over 85 years ago, John and Mary Haslam started a used book and magazine store and over the years it has grown into a Mecca for books in Florida.
Since opening, Haslam’s Book Store aimed to provide readers with used magazine and books at bargain prices.
The book shop has moved four times over the years, in order to accommodate the growing number of books on its shelves—finally landing at 30,000-square feet and one 300,0000 books.
When you pop in, make sure to give the shop cat a quick scratch on the head when you see it lounging around amid the stacks of books.
Wander through the shelves of books, ranging in all sorts of prices, themes, and topics—it’s easy to spend an entire day wandering through the aisles.
There are plenty events that happen throughout each month too, with readings, music, and book signings to enjoy.
