The Winter Coaster In Wyoming Will Take You On The Ride Of A Lifetime
Snow King Mountain Resort's Cowboy Coaster offers an exhilarating winter coaster experience in Wyoming.
Yeehaw! You don't typically associate cowboys with coasters, but in Wyoming, it's all the rage. Soaring down the mountain on a coaster surrounded by an endless blanket of snow is an exhilarating experience, and now we can enjoy the ride thanks to Snow King Mountain Resort. Their Cowboy Coaster is the most exciting winter coaster in Wyoming, and it's sure to take you on the ride of a lifetime.
Snow King is home to the first mountain coaster in Wyoming's oldest ski area. Snow King Mountain's Cowboy Coaster is located in Jackson - and you can walk to the ski area from most places downtown. The fun begins at 456 feet up Snow King Mountain.
The descent plunges you into twists and turns through a mile of curves, hairpin turns and loops. The Cowboy Coaster reaches a maximum speed of 25 mph. It's a choose-your-own-speed adventure, so you stay in control the whole time.
You'll control your coaster car's speed with the use of hand brakes. Simply push brakes forward to move or if you let go or pull back, the cart will slow down and stop.
Most of the family will be able to enjoy the ride! To drive the coaster, you need to be between 54" and 84". To ride with a driver, you must be at least 38" tall.
Your adventure begins at the base of Snow King Mountain. A chairlift carries you up the mountain before letting you loose to spiral down through a thick pine forest along the snowy track.
The course yields spectacular views of the Tetons, Jackson and the National Elk Refuge, so don't forget to look around!
The winter coaster is open from mid December through mid March, and operates in most weather conditions.
So, hands in the air and let's go!
