One of the things we love most about Wyoming is how there are fun little places tucked away throughout the state, easily overlooked unless you're a local, or in the know. 1. The Meeteetse Chocolatier

2. Continental Divide Trail

This continues from the north of the hydrological divide of the Americas trails from Northwest Wyoming all the way through the South Central part of the state, and on into neighboring states.

3. The Guernsey Ruts

AKA, Deep Rut Hill. Located south of Guernsey, these soft sandstone ruts were created by covered wagons as part of the historical Oregon Trail.

Walking around here is like walking back in time.

4. The Wyoming Dinosaur Center

Thermopolis is home to this museum that features dino-digs and tours, as well as "Stan," a 41-foot T-Rex.

You can even dig on a real site for a day!

5. FireRock Steakhouse & Grill

Featuring salads, steaks, and seafood, this is a favorite of those who live in (or travel through) Casper.

In fact, this steakhouse was named one of the best in Wyoming.

6. Medicine Wheel in Big Horn National Forest

Made out of limestone boulders, this 80-foot diameter medicine wheel was created 1,500-500 years ago. The 1.5-mile hike is worth the view of this National Historic Landmark.

7. Vedauwoo

Pronounced "Vi-duh-voo," this scenic area is part of Medicine Bow National Forest. Vedauwoo is an Arapahoe word meaning, "Earth Born." Nestled between Laramie and Cheyenne, visitors enjoy hiking, picnicking, climbing, and camping here.

8. White Mountain Petroglyphs

Near Rock Springs, this 300-ft cliff displays rock art created by Indigenous people that is forever etched in history.These petroglyphs may be the coolest carvings you’ll ever see.

9. Shell Falls

As part of the Big Horn National Forest, Shell Falls offers hiking trails, beautiful views, and a visitor's center.

You can practically drive right up to the cascade!

10. Wyoming State Museum

This museum features two levels of everything from pre-historic artifacts to traveling exhibits, such as Wyoming Aviation History. This museum also provides an interactive section for children. (Plus, admission is free.)
