These World Records Are Extremely Bizarre… But They’re Held In Wisconsin

The people of Wisconsin are not only the most friendly, but they are some of the most talented around. We've won our share of gold medals and prestigious awards. And we hold our share of Guinness World Records. But here are some of our favorites:

1. Largest Collection of Winnie the Pooh Memoribilia. There are 11,485 items (and counting!) that are owned by Deb Hoffman of Waukesha. The record was set on September 21, 2014, at which point she broke her own previous record of 10,002 pieces. Hey Deb, not sure if you have this Winnie the Pooh!

2. Tallest Living Horse. "Big Jake" of Smokey Hollow Farms in Poynette, Wisconsin is the tallest horse in the land. He is twenty hands and 2.75 inches (without shoes!). The record was set on January 19, 2010.

3. Largest French Horn Ensemble. Ooooh, my inner band nerd is delighted! On December 22, 2007, eighty five people assembled at Avenue Mall in Appleton.

4. Most People Caroling. No one does Christmas like Wisconsin. And on November 22, 2013, the largest assembly of people caroling took place. 1,822 people came down to the Waukesha Downtown Business Association to sing their hearts out.

5. Largest Scoop of Ice Cream. At 3,010 pounds, Kemps developed the largest scoop of ice cream in the world. It was 5'6" tall and 6'2" wide, the equivalent of seventy-three containers of ice cream. It debuted at the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival on June 28, 2014. My only complaint is that it wasn't chocolate.
