Taste Of Madison Is The Perfect Way To Say Goodbye To Summer In Wisconsin
Taste of Madison is a lively end-of-summer festival in Wisconsin featuring food from 75 vendors, beverages, and musical acts.
Wisconsin’s summer passes too quickly. Those lazy days on the beach or the pool make way for cooler weather, fall colors, and eventually, the dreaded "s word." But that’s tomorrow. Make plans to celebrate the end of summer at a festival that’s as tasty as it is lively – Taste of Madison. If Wisconsin’s summer is a delicious meal, think of this event as the decadent dessert. Here’s what’s waiting for you at this year’s Taste of Madison.
Taste of Madison is held in the heart of the city on the state Capitol Square. It calls itself the largest picnic on the square.
It’s a pretty enormous event. There’s plenty of parking though in the garages and streets surrounding the square – just walk to the capitol and join the crowd.
The booths are operated by the best restaurants in Madison, serving their most popular dishes. You can take a food tour of the whole city by only walking a single city block.
Arrive hungry: there are 75 vendors, serving everything from slices of pizza, ice cream cones, mini racks of ribs, spicy curries, and more.
Beverage stands will keep you refreshed as you browse the food and entertainment. Enjoy a cold soda, a craft beer, a glass of wine, or a malted cooler, and then head to one of the stages.
The festival serves up more than great food and drinks. Musical acts line the square, offering songs that will have you dancing away the last days of summer.
