I Got A Beach-Side Seat For the Crivitz Ski Cats, One Of Wisconsin’s Best Waterski Shows
One of the best ways to spend a summer evening won’t cost you a dime. Wisconsin has a lot of great waterski shows, and one of the best is located in Marinette County. I had the opportunity to see the Crivitz Ski Cats in action - while the weather wasn’t perfect, the show must go on and it certainly did. This Wisconsin water ski show is incredible! Here’s why you need to make plans to see the Crivitz Ski Cats.
The home base of the Ski Cats is Lake Noquebay. It’s the largest lake in Marinette County, spanning nearly 2,400 acres. It’s an awesome lake for boating, fishing, and, obviously, water skiing.
The Crivitz Ski Cats put on shows at Lake Noquebay County Park on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The park is located on the lake’s south shore. There’s a small fee to enter the park, but the shows are feee (donations are welcomed).
A Ski Cats show is an unforgettable experience. It truly captures the excitement of this exhilarating sport with a variety of acts. The team has been a fixture in Marinette County for a long time - it was formed back in 1962!
The show had an “out of this world” space theme, and the skiers did their tricks while wearing a variety of fun costumes. We were able to take in the show from the park’s soft sand beach.
There was rough water the night I attended, but they still put on a great show. They even put up a pyramid - no small feat in these waves!
Other parts of the performance included jumps, barefoot skiing, and swivels. The skiers were truly outstanding - a couple members of the team (Cale Ducane and Josie Smerchek) will be representing the United States at the 2025 World Show Ski Championships in Australia!
I was really blown away by this Wisconsin water ski show and hope to make it back to see another performance. Learn more abut the Crivitz Ski Cats on the team’s Facebook page.
