The highway is about 3,073 miles long and passes through 12 states, including West Virginia, as well as Washington D.C. This year's yard sale will take place May 19-21, 2017.

The 18th annual yard sale will take place all along US Route 50 (and sometimes Old Route 50).

Route 50 stretches from coast to coast, with 196 miles passing through West Virginia.

In previous years, many various community yard sales took place at historic locations.

The community yard sale at Traveler's Rest in Burlington helped to raise money for restoration of this beautiful stone house.

Homes and businesses along Route 50 or Old Route 50 are also encouraged to take part in the sale.
