The Utah Renaissance Festival Will Be Back For Its 9th Year Of Fun & Festivities
The Utah Renaissance Festival at Thanksgiving Point offers a magical experience with historical reenactments, entertainment, and themed costumes.
If dragons, wizards, mermaids and fairies spark your imagination, and tales of King Henry the VIII and Queen Elizabeth fascinate you, then you'll want to attend this year's Utah Renaissance Festival. It's happening soon, so make plans now!
Utahns are lucky to have several Renaissance fairs to attend throughout the year, and the Utah Renaissance Faire at Thanksgiving Point is one of the best. This year's faire takes place on August 27th and 28th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and it's going to be absolutely magical.
Entertainers and vendors will all be in costume, and Utah Renaissance Faire encourages you to dress up, too!
There are so many options for fun costumes. Appropriate themes include Shakespearean, Scottish, Celtic, Norse/Vikings, pirates, fantasy such as fairies, dragons, and mermaids, and more. Visit the faire's website FAQ section for more ideas.
You'll want to set aside plenty of time to visit, because there's a lot to see and do. Check out the jousting competitions with Knights of Mayhem. These skilled jousters are eleven-time World Champions!
Enjoy entertainment all throughout the faire, from stage performances to traveling minstrels.
Phenomenal Fire is always a favorite. Watch the performers breathe fire, just like dragons!

Queen Elizabeth and King Henry the VIII will be on hand, too. The House of Tudor is a wonderful group of historical reenactors who know everything there is to know about the characters they play.
Everywhere you look, you'll find something exciting going on here. From sword-fighting...
...to axe-throwing, you'll feel as though you've gone back in time to the 1600s.
All this activity is certain to stoke your appetite, so make sure to head over to the food vendors' booths for a Renaissance snack. Try a meat pie or a Scotch egg!
If you purchased tickets for the 2020 Utah Renaissance Faire, you don't need to buy a ticket this year. The festival was cancelled due to Covid-19, but it's ready to entertain you in 2021!
Visit the Utah Renaissance Faire's website to get your tickets in advance, and check out its Facebook page to see updated information about the entertainers, food vendors, and more.
