As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, we’re marking the milestone with a year-long editorial journey that celebrates the diverse experiences, places, and traditions that define the U.S. America at 250: A Year of Iconic Experiences is a monthly series designed to spotlight what makes this country extraordinary, from its landscapes and foodways to its music, history, people, and small-town spirit.
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a year-long series exploring iconic destinations, food, music, road trips, national parks, and traditions that define the American experience. Throughout the year, we’ll explore the stories and destinations that have shaped America over the past two and a half centuries, building toward a definitive best-of-the-best finale in December.

The series kicks off in January with a celebration of winter at its finest. From legendary ski towns and snow-covered national parks to frozen waterfalls, hot springs, and cozy mountain retreats, this month highlights cold-weather escapes that prove winter is one of America’s most magical travel seasons.
February shifts the focus to food with a nostalgic love letter to iconic American diners and comfort food institutions. Expect neon signs, family-run counters, regional specialties, and the kinds of meals that have fueled road trips and communities for generations.
In March, the soundtrack of America takes center stage as we explore the birthplaces of American music. From jazz and blues to country, rock, and hip-hop, this month dives into the cities, venues, and small towns where these genres were born and continue to thrive.
April then opens the door to the Great Outdoors with a sweeping look at America’s national parks, spotlighting both iconic landscapes and underrated gems during the height of spring.
