1) Cockroach Hall of Fame (Plano)
Who wouldn't want to see a display of dead cockroaches dressed up in full costumes?!
2) Toilet Seat Museum (San Antonio)
Barney Smith, the founder, will happily tell you the story behind each toilet seat and lid, for no extra charge. Great way to spend a day in San Antonio, wouldn't you agree?
3) Devil's Rope Barbed Wire Museum (McLean)
Located on historic Route 66, this quirky museum houses everything you could ever want to know about barbed wire and fencing tools.
4) Salt Palace Museum (Grand Saline)
This small museum showcases the history of salt, but it goes a step further than that - the building is actually MADE of salt. If you love salt (who doesn't?) you should definitely pay this place a visit.
5) Art Car Museum (Houston)
Come see the "Garage Mahal" of Houston, full of cars plastered with odds and ends and paintings. You definitely won't find this anywhere else!
6) Texas Prison Museum (Huntsville)

8) National Museum of Funeral History (Houston)
Maybe this one's a bit morbid, but you can see plenty of funeral service artifacts and exhibits about embalming and burial methods. It has the largest collection of funeral paraphernalia in the country, so there's endless stuff to look at to keep you occupied.
9) Creation Evidence Museum (Glen Rose)
Displaying the lifework of Dr. Baugh, known as the champion of creation science, this museum will definitely make you ponder our true origins. It's located right next door to Dinosaur Valley State Park...conflicting views much?
10) Munster Mansion (Waxahachie)
How cool is this?! A couple in the small town of Waxahachie has created an exact replica of the mansion from the 1960s sitcom, The Munsters. It has a coffin-shaped phone booth, a handmade replica of Grandpa's electric chair, and all the bells and whistles. 11) West of the Pecos Museum (Pecos)
If you ever wanted to see an animatronic bartender, here's your chance. "Jess" will tell you all about a shooting that happened when he opened his bar in 1896. If you thought things couldn't get any weirder..think again..
12) Ripley's Believe It Or Not (Grand Prairie, San Antonio, Alamo Plaza)
Probably the king of all things weird, there's plenty of strange stuff in these museums to fill up a good portion of the day with exploring the strange artifacts and exhibits.
