Dream Spring Break in Tennessee: Where I’d Go if Money Was No Object

Most people flock to the sunny beaches of Florida for spring break, but I am not much of a sand-and-sea kind of guy anymore. I love my home here in the Volunteer State, but there is one place I just haven't spent a lot of time at: our capital city. There are so many things to do in Nashville, Tennessee; it's almost overwhelming, and my budget has always kept me from tasting the finer things in life. As an adventurer, it is fun to just sit back and daydream about impossibilities, so here is everything I would do in Nashville if money were not an object.

If I am going to spend my time in Music City to its full extent, then I am going to roll into town like a rockstar! Why not? So, I would hire a limo driver to take me everywhere I want to go. With my feet kicked up, I would have a fine glass of RC Cola in one hand and Prince’s Hot Chicken in the other. I would call out to my driver to take me to the first spot on my tour: the helipad. That's right. I would start by taking a scenic helicopter ride around the city to soak in the views of the skyline from the air. I would specifically be looking for the Batman Building and allow the pilot to take me on a whimsical tour.

Next, I would want to see all the sights I could, and that would mean going to my favorite spot in the city, the Parthenon. I would walk around the park for a little while to work off the hot chicken before I would head off to my next destination.

The Googoo Cluster is a Nashville classic, and I would arrive in style along the crowded downtown streets to the home of this Music City treat. I would join a class with others to make my own Googoo Cluster and then eat it all in one glorious sitting for dessert.

When it came time for dinner, there is nowhere I would rather go more than The House of Cards for a delectable meal and a magic show. After musing on the illusionist tricks, I would wander once again out with my limo driver to take in the sights at night. I would drive by all the tourist spots and dip in and out of famous places like the Grand Ole Opry and maybe catch a concert or two. Once I was fully tired, I would retire for the night at my bucket list hotel, the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

In the morning, I would make the most of the tropical setting inside the hotel with a dip in the cool water, take a boat ride to a waterfall, and slip down a few slides before it would be time to dry off and hit the town once again. This time, I would take a more natural approach to the day and visit Cheekwood. I love botanical gardens, and with a mixture of art and natural beauty, this place is a no-brainer. I would tour the mansion and the grounds to soak in every bit of history and flora glory.

Inspired by the gardens, I would want to head back into the heart of Music City to see all of the cherry blossoms that grace the city in the spring. As I sit and watch the pink and white hues of these stunning blossoms, I would be inspired to plan my next trip to an expensive restaurant since Nashville’s food scene is top-notch. After a full day, I would rest my head at the resort, getting ready for a good night’s sleep so I can do it all over again the next day.

With so many things to do in Nashville, Tennessee, I could spend spring break for the rest of my life and still not experience it all. It is fun to daydream, and maybe someday my imagination can manifest into reality. Until that day, I will just be sitting here, dreaming of the luxurious offerings of Music City.
