16 Awesome Things You Can Do In South Carolina When It’s Raining

What to do? What to do? How many times have you heard that question asked when it was raining outside? It's difficult to think of fun things to do when it's raining outside. You feel cooped up and have a need to get out of the house. Maybe you just need some rainy day ideas. Well, I have just the list for you. Here are 16 pretty awesome things you can do in South Carolina when it's raining.

1. Go to the bowling alley and knock down some pins...or in my case roll balls into the gutter.

2. Take in a movie. It's one of my favorite things to do on a wet and rainy day.

3. Try laser tag!

4. Delve under the sea. The aquarium is a great place to spend a rainy afternoon.

5. Go shopping at a covered market or hit the mall.

6. What's better than going to a bookstore? Why, going to a bookstore on a rainy day. There's just something about the smell and the atmosphere.

7. Take out that stack of board games and kick off your shoes, order pizza, and catch up with the children as you laugh your way through the day.

8. You can always try an indoor trampoline place. There's nothing like pretending you're Tigger for a day!

9. Close your eyes and pick one of our awesome museums to visit. We have loads of them and some are out of this world!

10. Take a cooking class and learn something different such as how to roll sushi or make authentic Italian dishes.

11. Go tour a historic home. We have quite a few here in South Carolina to choose from.

12. You can take a walk on the wild side and see what the Big M Casino has in store for you. You just might win big!

13. Try something fun and wacky...go to the Kazoo Factory!

14. Run away from those raindrops by running into the theater...take in a show and forget the weather.

15. Get the children, load them in the car, and head to an indoor fun park for a day of excitement.

16. And, if all else fails and the rain gets to you too much you can always lay down for a nap. They're underrated by children and can only be truly appreciated by adults.

The rainy season is upon us and what better way to combat the rainy day blues than by trying something fun? Okay, maybe naps aren't considered "fun" in the mainstream way, but to some of us they can be quite refreshing and if all else fails then you can always have that one to fall back on.
