The Lowcountry’s Beloved Holiday Festival Of Lights Will Be Returning To South Carolina

Here in the Palmetto State, we sure know how to embrace the holiday season. From small towns putting up their charming holiday decor to the bigger cities decking the halls, there's simply no shortage of ways to experience Christmas in South Carolina. If you're looking for a family-friendly event that promises to impress everyone in your crew, the Holiday Festival of Lights belongs at the top of your list. The Holiday Festival of Lights will take place between Nov. 10 and Dec. 31, 2023, from 5:30-10:00 p.m.

Since 1990, the Holiday Festival of Lights has entertained carload after carload of visitors.

By the numbers, the festival has welcomed well over four million visitors since its inaugural year.

That's a lot of cars and a lot of smiling faces!

In fact, in recent years, annual attendance has reached more than 250,000.

The event takes place at one of Charleston County's finest parks.

James Island County Park is a fantastic venue for the Holiday Festival of Lights and its inland lakes provide reflections galore for the twinkling light displays.

Visitors may recognize some local landmarks among the many displays.

On the far side of the lake is a replica (in lights) of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. It's 30 feet tall and as long as a football field.

Animated displays are the earmark of the light themes.
