The Garden Christmas Light Displays At Brookgreen Gardens In South Carolina Are Pure Holiday Magic

If you're seeking some pure holiday magic this year, then head to Murrells Inlet to stroll through the Brookgreen Gardens Christmas lights. Taking place on select nights towards the end of November through December 31, 2023, Nights of a Thousand Candles is simply stunning. It's been called the "Best Christmas lights in South Carolina" by Travel+Leisure Magazine - but it's quite possibly the best in the entire southeast, even.

Set among the formal sculpture gardens on a 1700s plantation, the annual Brookgreen Gardens Christmas exhibit attracts scores of locals and visitors alike each holiday season, who enjoy the most breathtaking experience.

Centuries-old live oak trees are draped and wrapped in thousands and thousands of twinkling lights.

The garden known as Live Oak Alley is transformed into a rainforest of holiday lights that are extraordinary.

Additionally, the venue also lights 2,800 candles every afternoon during the Christmas season at Brookgreen Gardens - by hand. Most of them are floating within the reflection pools of the many gardens. This really adds a special touch with a different type of light for creating a unique Christmas display.

A limited number of tickets will be sold, so be sure to secure yours soon to enjoy the Brookgreen Gardens Christmas lights.

Tickets are available for purchase online.

Tickets for this year's Brookgreen Gardens lights event are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. The ticket prices for children are less, $14 for members and $17 for non-members.

There are no refunds, but you will be able to switch your ticket date to another if the need arises.

Nights of a Thousand Candles takes place rain or shine. Obviously, if it's raining the candles won't be lit.
