1. Mission Dolores Cemetery - San Francisco

The Mission Dolores cemetery at: 3321 16th Street in San Francisco has a long history. Many unsettled ghosts haunt this cemetery because numerous interments were removed and relocated to make way for road construction and growth. Paranormal activity has been detected in places where spirits have been forgotten, and now where kids play.

2. San Francisco National Cemetery

This cemetery is nearly 30 acres and quite historic. Also, the remains of the former Letterman Army Hospital are located here. The haunted factor lies with the spooky stories of apparitions of American soldiers who died there. Argh!

3. San Francisco Columbarium & Funeral Home

The San Francisco Columbarium has cremated ashes of over 30,000 remains dating all the way back to 1898. There are reports of ghosts who restlessly walk around the columbarium. Another story, a visitor claimed to feel a hand on her back, but didn’t see anyone. Eventually, the visitor discovered a white handprint on their clothes when arriving home later.

4. Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery: Colma

Colma is not in San Francisco, but the dead outnumber the living by almost 1000:1. Your chances of running into the dead are high here.

5. Presidio Pet Cemetery: San Franisco

Hidden in a forgotten corner of the old Presidio is a pet cemetery with sad, tiny grave markers. The Fog often hangs over everything here adding to the haunted factor. Walk around the cemetery to get the full effect of being among the remains of dogs, lizards and parakeets that have traveled the globe and whose owners fought in various major wars. Ghostly figures, mostly animals and military officers have been spotted here.

6. Mountain View Cemetery: Oakland

Beautiful and full of mystery. The cemetery features rolling knolls with elaborate mausoleums and monuments that seem regal yet haunting. If you walk among the trees, you'll feel frightened within the isolation until you see the top and San Francisco across the bay.

7. Hills of Eternity: Colma

The cemetery is known as the "City of the Dead." This is where Wyatt Earp is buried; and where his ghost still haunts today. Visitors to Earp's grave are known to leave behind poker chips, cards and bullets.

8. Cypress Lawn: Colma

This is a one of a kind cemetery with bronze statues to Grecian temples. Paranormal activity has been reported here along with apparitions intermingling with the living in Colma, the city of the dead.
