Autumnfest In Rhode Island Is A Unique Way To Spend A Fall Day

Autumn’s all about traditions. Although we all have our own traditions with family and friends, most of us look forward to an annual trip to the pumpkin patch, a leisurely hayride, and delightful treats like freshly-pressed apple cider. Every autumn, locals celebrate all of the fun of the season with a visit to this family-friendly fall festival in Rhode Island. You might want to join them this year.

Columbus Day weekend is synonymous, at least in Woonsocket, with the annual Autumnfest, an epic fall festival that draws visitors from all over Rhode Island.

The 2022 edition of Autumnfest, its 44th, will run from Friday, October 7 through Monday October 10. However, Friday’s festivities will be limited to the beer tent and carnival rides.

Held at World War II Memorial Park, Autumnfest earns props as “Northern Rhode Island’s largest festival,” making it ideal for a single day or a multi-day visit.

The four-day weekend celebration boasts a jam-packed menu of fun, including a parade that typically takes place on Saturday morning.

If you’re a fan of cornhole and want to show off your skills, recruit your best friend and enter the epic tournament. It’s set for Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A full menu of entertainment is also planned with James Montgomery Blues Band and Zac Brown Tribute Band (ZBTB) headlining the festivities.

The family-friendly event also features classic carnival rides and delicious fair food; bring a hearty appetite.

Plan a visit to the park at 9 p.m. Sunday evening, October 10, too, for the fireworks show.

Stay up-to-date with all of the latest details on the Autumnfest website. Or, stop by its Facebook page.
