The Ultimate Rhode Island Photo Challenge Is Right Here And You’ll Love Every Second Of It
If you had to choose just 15 photos to represent your home state, what would they be? This question is the motivation behind this fun photo challenge! Maybe you're an avid photographer, or maybe you just really know how to work that smart phone of yours; whatever the case may be, this challenge is for you. Choose a sunny weekend, load up your car with friends, and get ready to create your very own ultimate Rhode Island photo album featuring the state's most quintessential images!
*Note that these are in no particular order, and can be done over one weekend, or one year! The point is to have fun and get out there and see some of the best places, food, and attractions, that Little Rhody has to offer. Don't forget to tag us on Instagram @only_in_rhode_island to have your gorgeous photos featured by us!
1. Catch a shot of the Big Blue Bug on I-95 headed towards Providence.
Stay safe and make sure you bring a car companion to capture this one!
2. Head to the State House at 82 Smith Street in Providence and take a picture, or selfie.
Bonus if you can get the man on top of the state house in your shot!
3. Go to Olneyville N.Y. System and take a picture with your hot wiener!
Extra points if it's at the original location at 18 Plainfield Street in Providence.
4. Visit Roger Williams Zoo and take a selfie, or picture at your favorite exhibit.
Bonus: Take a shot of the carousel in Roger Williams Park while you're there.
5. No Rhode Island photo album would be complete without a shot enjoying every Rhode Islander's favorite drink!
You can take your pick from the many Del's stands across the state.
6. You might have to wait for summer for this one, but definitely make sure you include a picture of Providence WaterFire.
Seeing the river come ablaze at one of Rhode Island's most popular events is simply magical.
7. You'll definitely want to capture the Narragansett Towers on this challenge.
You can find it at 35 Ocean Road in Narragansett.
8. Head to Scarborough Beach and take a picture in front of the ruins.
You can find this popular state beach on Ocean Road past the towers.
9. Go to a clam shack and take a picture of your clam cakes and chowder.
Is there a more purely Rhode Island meal? Iggy's in Narragansett is highly recommended!
10. Stop by Point Judith Lighthouse and take what might just be the most quintessential New England photo ever.
You can find this beautiful historic building at 1460 Ocean Road in Narragansett.
11. Another drive by photo challenge... Catch a shot either of, or from the Newport Bridge.
We again encourage you to have your passenger take this for you, or bring a driver.
12. After taking your picture of the Newport Bridge, head over to the Cliff Walk for some perfect photo opportunities with Narragansett Bay in the backdrop.
This 3.5 mile walking path offers some of the most perfectly scenic views in the entire state.
13. While you're at the Newport Cliff Walk don't forget to take a picture of the Breakers Mansion.
You can find this gorgeous Gilded Age mansion and former Vanderbilt residence at 44 Ochre Point Avene in Newport at the end of the walk.
14. Head over the Jamestown Bridge and catch a shot of Beavertail State Park.
You won't regret spending an afternoon at this gorgeous park found at the end of Beavertail Road.
15. Our final challenge! You'll love every second of your Awful Awful selfie at Newport Creamery.
