The 61.5 acres of Fort Wetherill State Park comprises a former coastal defense battery, stunning views, trails, and picnic space. Fair warning, the tunnels inside the fort are exciting to explore, but also terrifying and dark so bring a flashlight and friends. This park is located at 3 Fort Wetherill Road.

11. Stroll along the Providence River during WaterFire.

This popular Rhode Island attraction features live music, delicious food, and the magical sight of the Providence River lit up with dozens of fire pits. It's hard to believe there is no cover fee to attend!
