The One Of A Kind Ferry Boat Adventure You Can Take In Pennsylvania

Spring means it's time for some treasured traditions to return. Strolls along cherry blossom-lined streets. Street festivals and church fairs. And, climbing aboard this ferry boat in Pennsylvania for a leisurely journey from Penn's Landing in Philadelphia to Camden, New Jersey.

The RiverLink Ferry connects Philadelphia and Camden's waterfronts, providing a picturesque and relaxing alternative to traveling by car.

Park your car at one of the parking lots near Penn's Landing. Planning to bike when you reach New Jersey? Bring your bike along.

Relax on a bench as the 500-passenger ferry sets sail along the Delaware River.

Watch as the city skyline passes by as you make the approximately half an hour journey to Camden or vice-versa. Passengers are permitted to bring coolers and chairs on the ferry. (However, alcohol consumption is prohibited.)

Once at the Camden Waterfront, the ferry will dock near the Adventure Aquarium, a popular tourist destination. Other attractions include Battleship New Jersey (pictured below) and the Camden Children's Garden.

What's more, the ferry is a popular way for Philly music lovers to travel to BB&T Pavilion in New Jersey for the hottest concerts in the region.

During special events, the ferry runs until 30 minutes after the event to shuttle visitors back to Philadelphia from New Jersey.

RiverLink Ferry services begin at 9:30 a.m. in Camden and at 10 a.m. in Philadelphia. The last ferry of the day leaves Penn's Landing at 7 p.m.

General admission roundtrip tickets are $9 for adults. Pay $7 for those 65 and older and for children between three and 12. If you're attending a special event, you must have a wristband to travel. Wristbands cost $10.

May 5 marks the start of the 2018 ferry season. The ferry will run from May 5-25 on weekends and during concerts. It will resume a seven-day-a-week schedule from May 26 to September 2, 2018.

Hours vary in September, with the season ending on October 8.
