Most Harry Potter fans have already traveled to Hogwarts - at least in their imaginations. However, there's one college in Pennsylvania that might just make you feel as though you've stepped right into a scene from Harry Potter. For some, the likeness is so uncanny that it warrants a visit to this enchanting Philadelphia institution that has hosted an annual Harry Potter conference since 2011.
Nestled on 75 lush acres in Philadelphia, Chestnut Hill College got its start as Mount Saint Joseph College by the Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1924.
However, by 1938, the Catholic college underwent a name change, becoming Chestnut Hill College. It originally only awarded bachelor's degrees, but today offers both master's and doctoral programs as well.
A stroll through the campus, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, just might make you feel as though you've landed in Hogwarts.
Every autumn since 2011, in fact, Harry Potter scholars and fans have descended upon this Philadelphia college for a one-of-a-kind conference.
It's only fitting that a campus that resembles Hogwarts is home to the annual Harry Potter Conference.
The two-day conference, which the public is welcome to attend, is offered in-person, although a live streaming option is also available.
Registration to the annual conference is required. Learn more about the Harry Potter Conference at Chestnut Hill College.
Those who attend this annual festival have the unique opportunity to delve into the Harry Potter novels, with seminars focusing on characters, philosophy, and other themes.
The conference is billed as offering "academic reflections on the major themes in J.K. Rowling's literature."
