Embrace A World Of Drama At The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Opening Its 2020 Season Soon

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, running from February to October, offers an authentic Elizabethan theatre experience with a variety of plays and events.

Lovers of Shakespeare's work know that "the play's the thing." Hamlet was trying to catch the conscience of the king who killed his father, but the players at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival don't have any such motives - they're simply trying to entertain and delight their audience. The 2020 season starts in February, and you won't want to miss it!

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has been entertaining audiences for more than 70 years. It's one of the oldest festivals of its kind, and has won Tony awards for its work.

Theatre patrons enjoy an authentic, Elizabethan experience at the festival, which runs from February through October.

The Allen Elizabethan Theatre has been an icon of the festival since its beginning. This is the third theatre to be built here, after fire destroyed the first one, and the second was deemed unsafe.

The current theatre has undergone several renovations. It currently seats 1,198 theatre-goers.

In addition to the Allen Elizabethan Theatre, you'll enjoy plays at the Angus Bowmer Theatre and the Thomas Theatre.

The lineup for 2020 includes A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, The Copper Children, Peter & The Starcatcher, and more.

You'll want to learn more about the plays presented at the festival, so make sure to catch a post matinee discussion, park talk, or backstage tour.

The Green Show is a big part of the OSF, and it runs June through September. Enjoy live music, dance, and other entertainment Wednesday through Saturday, starting at 6:45 p.m.
