The Largest Horse & Buggy In The U.S. Is Near Cleveland And It’s An Unforgettable Adventure

While Pennsylvania may be the best known state with an Amish population, the highest density of this group in the United States is actually right here in Holmes County, Ohio. However, if you're looking for one of the most photographable destinations in Ohio's Amish Country, you'll want to look to a quaint community called Greenwich that's just north of Ashland, Ohio. Here, one massive horse and buggy statue stands waiting as the perfect backdrop for holiday cards, profile pictures, or senior photos. This unique Amish Country landmark near Cleveland is just an hour away from The Land, and there's much to see in the surrounding area. Check it out:

This charming storefront is a destination called Beyond Measure Market, and it's a hit with locals and tourists alike.

This is a real market with a mission. Proceeds help support Mission to Amish People, an organization that helps former Amish women land on their feet after leaving their communities. If you've ever seen the reality shows around this concept, then you know that adjusting to "English" culture is no easy feat!

The storefront, which provides employment to former Amish women as they adjust to English culture, has everything from fresh product to fry pies.

I recommend seeking out the homemade buckeyes. They're melt-in-your-mouth good, and they're a classic Ohio treat that can't be beat.

And while the storefront is incredible, the real showstopper on-site is the massive horse and buggy statue.

This wooden oddity has been called the World's Largest Horse and Buggy. At 32 feet long and 14 feet tall, it's an oddity you almost have to see to believe.

Made entirely of 2x4s, it was only recently finished in the last half decade.

The locals must have been quite surprised when this wooden beauty went up! It's one of the coolest roadside attractions in the area, and visitors have been making a habit of posing with it during visits. It's not hard to see why!

There's even more to discover in the area! Right around the corner, Sprinkle's Serenity is awaiting your visit.

This park was once a farm owned by Hazel and Carl Sprinkle. While it was once home to famed milk cows like Suzanna King Phoebe, it's now a marshy property that's downright stunning. The park district added more than 4,000 new trees and shrubs to help the former farm return to a more natural state, though 20 acres of the park continue to be farmed to this day.

And Charlemont Reservation keeps the outdoor fun going.

This 785-acre park is part of the Lorain County Metro Parks system, and it's absolutely coveted by horse riders for its scenic trails. Its 5.2-mile loop trail is rated as "extremely primitive," so make sure you bring hiking boots if this park is on your local bucket list.

Oma's Belgian Waffles and Cafe is one spot in Greenwich that's perfect for a meal.

Whether you hike up an appetite or get your stomach growling at the market, this cute cafe in town is a great place to stop. And yes, their specialty is, indeed, waffles. You won't believe how they serve them up!

You just can't go wrong with a trip down into the rural communities near Cleveland.

And this unique Amish Country landmark near Cleveland is one that absolutely belongs on your bucket list.

This unusual Amish Country landmark near Cleveland is a must-see attraction, and it's worth stopping by the market, too! Their sandwiches are a hit with locals, and your patronage supports young women who are entering the world with no driver's license, credit card, or resume. It's a great cause!

While you're in the area, considering making a road trip just a bit further south to visit Loudonville. It's one of my favorite places to go canoeing in Northeast Ohio!
